The leather straps are not full grain hide. They are thin leather, and the bag is just held shut with magnets (like a ladies’ purse). The manufacturer’s intent is to not use the straps and buckles. If the bag is loaded up full, the magnets will not secure the closure flap. I had to gorilla-glue the magnets together and hand stitch the leather buckle-strap to the canvas. Now I can use the straps and buckles. This made the bag a little more robust and able to contain a load. Now that I’ve modifed the bag, it is functional, but for the $80 price tag, I feel like I was ripped off.”
